CPD Teacher TrainingJoin the Royal Institution of Great Britain for CPD sessions with a focus on using practical demonstrations and experiments as part of everyday science teaching. The aim is to equip teachers with the skills and confidence to stimulate curiosity and encourage inquiry-led learning. The sessions focus on bringing science to life in the classroom and include the investigation of ideas, interactive demonstrations and presentation tips.
Join the Science Museum Group Academy team for an interactive online session exploring the key elements of engagement and how to use them to plan and develop engaging and inspiring experiences for your students. The team will explore the five key elements for creating engaging learning experiences – Hook, Inform, Enable, Extend and Reflect. You’ll have the opportunity to try out techniques for each element and discuss ideas to help you plan engaging and inspiring STEM experiences for your students in and beyond the classroom.
All you’ll need is a regular video call set-up and a willingness to have a go at the activities and share your ideas.
Teacher Development WorkshopThe Science Museum Group Academy will share a range of practical approaches to help you engage your students with science in this workshop. Using tried and tested resources, we will explore ideas for connecting classroom learning with your students’ everyday lives to demonstrate the relevance of science and methods for developing skills that are useful for science. All of our courses are hands-on, teachers will be able to apply the techniques learnt in the workshop in class.
